Team Green Mama's

So- this is going to be our first time not finding out what the gender is and I am excited and nervous at the same time. I tend to be a planner, so trying to nest later on without the foreknowledge of what's to come is going to be a little nerve racking. I don't have issues with little things like diapers. I don't really care about colors. Wool is another story Sneaky won't have their own room right away so that's not an issue either. Mainly clothes. I have GN stuff for around the house.

My point was, will any of you do a gender scan and have the DR seal it up and then give it to your family so they know and can buy gender appropriate clothing/ stuff? I'm second guessing this as I kind of want it to be a surprise for everyone.

Thoughts, input?

This will be our first time on team green, too. I would never let family know because 1. It would really irritate me to be the last to know and 2. I know someone would let it slip before baby was born.

We will likely find out the sex of this baby but we were Team Green with the last one. Really, we received very few clothing items as gifts because of it. Since he was our first, that was a bonus IMO as we needed gear and all the misc items. The only clothing people bought us were white onesies and t-shirts and yellow/duck items. I bought specific outfits for bringing baby home (a boy outfit and a girl outfit). Otherwise, most of our nb layette was just white or yellow. Lots of people bought clothes as gifts and a friend gave me a handful if hand-me-downs from her boys so we had several boy outfits after the first few days.

There is no way I would let anyone else know! Like PP said, someone will squeak and you and your DH should be the first to know. The clothes really aren't a big deal at all. And just tell your u/s techs ASAP when you go in. I had fibroids and had 4 extra u/s on top of our 20-week one. We just told them we didn't want to know at each one and they had us turn away while they found baby and anytime they were near the genitals. Team Green is so fun, I say go for it!!! The anticipation is killing me with this one but if it is a girl and we end up going for #3 (having a boy and girl), I would totally go green again!

Oh, an re: gender-specific stuff, I much prefer gender neutral so that was a bonus for me ;-)

I wanted to be team green with the last one. DH found out and was supposed to be the only one to know. He did great at keeping the family at bay, but he was holding DD one day and said, "It's going to be so cool, next year I will be standing her with my baby girl on this side and my little man on this side.---- CRAP! Or baby girl." Needless to say he isn't going to be finding out the sex this time!

Re: Team Green Mama's

Thanks ladies. I think I am going to keep it a secret for all. I can buy the white onsies for the first few weeks, and I'm sure my mother and MIL will be shopping for us once baby comes.

Yes. Don't let other people know before you! That would kill me. :-)

I was team green with #2 and might be with this one. Dh wants to find out because he says if he's going to have three daughters he needs to prepare himself. Lol.
