Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
Let me see if I can find it. I wrote it down but may have tossed it when I cleaned the kitchen. I got it out of a book that I borrowed from the library and modified it. Basically, I used tomato sauce instead of ketchup and a small amount of honey instead of sugar.
ETA-- I can't find it, but I am looking for the one I used to use. I think it was from Everyday Paleo. ETA Again-- I am pretty sure that it came from Everyday Paleo or Paleo Comfort Foods. I had them checked out at the same time. This isn't it, but here is one http://www.marksdailyapple.com/prima...#axzz2IwXZ2fHY

Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
Practical Paleo is divided into 3 parts. The first part is about the diet it's self, the second part is a number of meal plans and the third part is recipes. The meal plans are okay. They do suggest that you eat left overs from time to time but the dinner ideas seem to be new every day.
My biggest complaint about the meal plans so far is that she has things on there that she doesn't include recipes for. Sure I don't need a recipe for steamed spinach but why not include one? Or for lunch she suggest having wild canned salmon with olives, avocado, lemon juice, tomato and olive oil. Those are the only instructions. I can figure it out but all the recipes are like that. I like detailed idiot proof recipes. All these recipes are like texts from your BFF telling you how to cook things. When we shop we use coupons and buy whatever's on sale. Following a meal plan does not allow me to do that. It also calls for more unusual ingredients like fig leaves. If you're not a confident cook this is not the book for you. My stock is on the stove and heading into hour 8 of cooking. Woohoo!

My broth is very tasty but it never got gelatinous. Perhaps next time I will add pig feet.

Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
May I join you ladies? I'm eating GF at the moment and thought what the heck, might as well cut out most grains and get a few Paleo cookbooks. I'm attempting my first Paleo meal plan for next week and would love ideas for prep ahead breakfast/lunch/snacks and dinner ideas!

Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
Skatha89.....we eat mainly fruit and hard boiled eggs for breakfast...both take very little prep. Lunch I usually have leftovers and salad. The only meal I really need to prep is dinner....I generally buy in bulk and as I'm separating it, I add a marinade before I freeze it. That way all I have to do is defrost it.
I've been really really bad the last week, lol! And the funny thing is I have lost nearly 5lbs even though I have had grain and a good amount of splenda. I have less energy though...I need to get back on the band wagon.
