Re: Basically it's Wednesday
Morning mamas! Wonder if I inspired all the waffles today.
![]() NYE I had terrible back pain and actually scrounged for my secret stash of Vicodin from Ian's birth . I made it through the day after that, but we had told the kids they could have a slumber party in the basement, not knowing the temps would drop so much and make it difficult to sleep there. So they instead had a slumber party in our bed and DH and I had to make do on the couch. So NYD I woke up in pain again, but not as bad so I could do Alleve. Anyway, long story short it made it difficult to get the NYD lunch on the table in a timely fashion, and we had grocery store steaks so there was some resistance. The kids don't know how to eat beef that isn't ground up or sliced thin, and DH of course gets to eat high-end steakhouse steak about 6x a year through work so he has to pretend that grocery store steak is ok. So we were overloaded on meat at lunch, thus the waffles at dinner. Of which there was no resistance. And soon we were all in a carb coma by the fire.Today is the last day of their winter vacation. School starts tomorrow. Ginger is lobbying to go out for ice cream even though it is like 15 or 20 out. They have finished breakfast, and Ian and Rosie are watching the 99c VUDU movie of the day (Madagascar 3) while Ginger gets some very rare Wii alone time. I am having coffee and a sausage/spinach/mushroom/cheese egg scramble in peace. Aaaah.

Re: Basically it's Wednesday
Janine, I live for rearranging rooms like that. I love it. We lived in a 1bed apartment when Rosie was born, and I made it into a two bed with just furniture arrangement. I agree, long term that you will probably have to put all of them in the living room because I don't see how you could fit four in the bedroom when they get bigger. If they were all girls, you could maybe manage with two bunk beds, but it's not really ideal.
I have been purging like crazy. Taking advantage of DH being home for the holidays and finally going though all those boxes and bags we threw together moving at the last minute because of the crazy landlord. I've got five trash bags for goodwill so far. Two bags of trash. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel in that part of the unfinished basement I dream of making into my little craft studio.

We're all showered and dressed and such. We are headed to one of my aunt & uncles place for supper. None of us really want to go, but it's all set up so we can't back out now. Sigh.

Re: Basically it's Wednesday
I made tortilla soup and strawberry banana "ice cream" in the blender
the kids weren't 100% sold on the fake ice cream but did like the soup. I think next time I will use just the yellow with lots of spots bananas, peels removed before frozen instead of my blackened nana bread nanas.I am excited that M3 is 99c today! That is going to be my motivation to kids to get their homework done before supper. Back to laundry. and dishes.

M3?
Made homemade buns to take to my aunt & uncle's. Now we're just hanging out trying to keep warm. The wind chill out there is still -17*F.

is right! I wish we didn't have to leave the house!! on the financial stress. We are having that on a small scale right now over vacation planning, and I don't like it. And it's not even serious...

Re: Basically it's Wednesday
Thanks. It is just feeling like we will never get ahead. It is important for Jerry to care for his Mom but he makes so little. I just feel like two steps forward..three steps back all the time.
