I have an ecobrew cup for mine, works fantastic. Found that on amazon. The machine itself was a gift to me so I didn't waste the $! I waste less coffee and water since I make it when I want it. We use it to heat water for warming bottles, tea, etc bc it is so fast to heat. I had the my kcup version of the reusable filter and I hated it. The coffee was weak and grounds leaked out of it.

For my 1 cup a day (when I'm not pregnant), I love it.

But yes, it's expensive and probably wasteful.

I have a reusable filter, but the main problem that lead me to get a keurig was that I make horrible coffee.... so Kcups are preferred.

I will keep this in mind. I have the keurig one and that's what it always seemed: weak. The leaky grounds didn't bother me much since my old coffee pot had a reusable filter and it leaked grounds - I thought that was normal for reusable filters. But the weakness... Was no bueno.

Re: K-Cup Coffee Maker

I think they are generally wasteful but! SIL goes dumpster diving at the big chain stores and got the one we use out of the trash! It works perfectly. All the k cups we have were found brand new in the trash too. Once we run out we'll probably just use the 2 cup attachment until she finds more free ones.

They have a reusable k cup that you can put your coffee in. Less waste and a LOT cheaper and it works just like a regular k cup. Just fill it and stick it in and press the button

Yes they are wasteful, but not as wasteful as hubby brewing a whole pot and then drinking only one cup .

If you truly love coffee you need a French Press. It makes such a difference!

My parents have one and they use it for instant coffee. They like that it dispenses the right amount of water I guess.

I agree that it's wasteful. Even if the cups are recyclable, because you're still putting that plastic through the waste system.
