Re: Basically it's Thursday

Christmas decorations are all packed away now...the living room looks so bare.

Heiner brought home BK and ate. Now he's gone to bed and I'm sitting here watching West is West.

Enjoy your night out Mel and Ru.

I have spent the day helping Jerry clean the house, cleaned out the cupboards, cleaned out the fridge, and made a pot of potato soup.

Sounds like you got a lot done

Is it difficult talking to your MIL...she doesn't speak English, does she?

Re: Basically it's Thursday

Hola mamacitas. So glad the kids went to school today. I got to do errands, see the chiro, and start a painting! I haven't painted in years, unless you count that Halloween backdrop I did two years ago.

Kari, is reading the only issue? Because that is easily supplemented outside of school. You know, get some computer reading games he likes, do the leap pad thing, etc. Check out a bunch of youth nonfiction at the library about snakes, telescopes, etc. Or get a really good tutor temporarily just to catch him up. Because if that's the only issue and it's otherwise working for him, IDK that I would want to do a massive change. Rosie has been in three elementary schools already, and she really doesn't have many issues, and I can tell how much the drastic change has negatively affected her in some ways. But if there are other concerns, that's a whole nuther thing.

Sounds like a good day Cheryl.

It is hard Janine but she was gone all day. It was Jerry and ivworling in her kitchen. She is hard to clean around but likes it when it is clean.

There are definatly other concerns. However reading right now is the main one. Pretty much at his pt conference last month the teacher told us he was the lowest overall in his class. His evaluation shows otherwise. So obviously there is a disconnect somewhere. Reading he scored low

I imagine it is hard for her. I know how it was when I was incapable of looking after the house/myself. It was horrible....but like you say, I did enjoy it when the place was clean.

I'm sure Jerry enjoyed being with you too.

Silly question....how does he read?

Derry used to read by saying all the letters phonetically...but first one letter; then the first and second letter; then the first, second, and third letter...and so on till the word was said. She's read a page like that. It was horrible.

She's much better now. She read me the first two pages of Matilda today
