Woo hoo! Think of all the squishy newborn goodness you're going to have to snuggle in a few months! I always just took the nature made prenatals b/c they had DHA already in them. they have a lot of iron though...27 mg. Oh! Keep at eye out at the thrift stores for diapers! We just found 6 fuzzibunz and 9 random/unknown pockets. Thye were like a dollar each.

You scored! That's awesome!

I'm definitely going to enjoy newborn squishiness!

Re: It's high time I...

I am 9 weeks myself and still working through my emotions about it.

My midwives offer B6/B12 injections twice weekly, and they are really helping with both the fatigue and nausea.

I don't take a prenatal until I am over the sickies. They just make the vomiting worse anyway and come right back up. I might have to look into the gummies.

I never thought about injections. I'll have to ask.

I hope you have a good pregnancy.

Re: It's high time I...

If your midwife or OB isn't familiar with it, make sure they do the research. B6 is okay to take regularly, but too high doses of B12 can be toxic. They do a full dose of both once, then a full B6/half B12, then only B6 before starting the cycle all over. I do my injections on Monday and Thursday, so it's a 4/3 day schedule.

I had pretty severe hyperemesis with my first 4 pregnancies, then a really good pregnancy with almost no vomiting. My last pregnancy was somewhat in the middle. I have only thrown up twice so far with the B injections, and my nausea is very manageable.

Re: It's high time I...

I think you should be taking folic acid: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pre...folicacid.html

And, DHA:
http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pre...pplements.html

As far as prenatals, I personally think the CVS brand is fine, but to each her own. As far as the appropriate levels of iron, I would suggest talking to your physician about that, or do you recall what you took previously?

Any standard prenatal will contain folic acid, but DHA is sold either together with the prenatals (but in a separate bottle) or entirely separately.
