Another sensitive skin problem

Posted recently about DS having issues with skin irritation from laundry tabs. Now we have a new problem. I've discovered the joys of folding flats, and I love it! I've been using receiving blankets and have 24 gmd flats on the way as we speak. The problem is that no matter how hard I try to smooth the wrinkles as I'm putting it on, DS always seems to get red marks from every little wrinkle and fold. They don't seem to bother him...he would let me know if they did! But I hate seeing his skin all red and angry looking when I take his diaper off. I'll try to get a pic later.

Could I be putting it on too tight? I try to get it good and snug but not tight. I'm doing the origami fold, sometimes with a doubler tucked in, and Snappis or pins. The red seems to be mostly around his waist and legs, but I see it other places there is a wrinkle, seam or fold in the fabric. I use flips as covers, but I don't think it's the cover because we don't get the marks with a trifolded PF.

Any thoughts?

I think the red marks you are describing sound like they are from pressure and not actually a sensitivity issue

This. My DS gets these and they are gone within a few minutes and the redness goes away. I don't think this is an issue.

I'm sure y'all are right. I'm probably just paranoid about my folding and pinning skills.

Here's the one I just put on him. I did roll/tuck in around his legs in the back after the photo. I just love how trim the flats are!

Re: Another sensitive skin problem

If they are similar to the marks you have around your ankles from your socks or waist from your jeans, then I wouldn't be worried. It sounds like you're doing just fine and he isn't bothered by it

Now that you mention it, it does resemble marks left by socks or snug pants. Here is a pic from when I removed the above diaper. The red went all the way around the waist and each leg.

So I'm overreacting I'll try and relax a bit. Thanks, Mamas!
