I have the flu, DD refusing to nurse
My 4 month old DD is really fussy at the breast right now. I have the flu with my temp ranging from 102-104.5 and I'm wondering if this might be why she keeps pulling away. Not sure if my milk tastes different or what. Maybe just coincidental? Like starting teething? I've checked her temp and she has no fever and it completely happy otherwise. Whatever it is, I'm trying to have her nurse as long as she will stand it, then pumping and having DH give her a bottle. I'm just worried this will affect my supply or that she will start preferring the bottle. Any thoughts?

Re: I have the flu, DD refusing to nurse
This just happened to me last week. My supply was down from being sick. I also wondered if it was the temp. He did have one day where he had a fever too. So, I wonder if he didn't feel well also even though he seemed fine otherwise. It can be hard for them to nurse if they are at all stuffy. Ultimately, when I got better, he started nursing just fine again. He still had a bit of a stuffy nose and that was frustrating for him, but he did fine once my supply went back up.
Hope you feel better quickly!

Lots of sickness here too. Your supply will likely go down, but she will get it back up. Feel better soon mama.

Re: I have the flu, DD refusing to nurse
Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts! I'm still pretty achy with a fever and getting a bit of a cough, but DH is taking good care of me (homemade chicken noodle soup!). Supply is definitely dropping a bit. Hopefully after the weekend I'll be better and my supply will pick back up.
