My Mood:
Removing Inserts?

When washing pockets do you HAVE to remove the inserts? I thought you could just leave them in but the diaper labels say to unsnap and remove them... TIA

I think it might depend on the diaper? Some say they "agitate out" on their own. I always took mine out anyway before dumping in the pail.

Re: Removing Inserts?

Sleeve style pockets agitate out but true pockets you need to unstuff occasionally they could agitate out but more often when dh forgets to unstuff before throwing in the pail they bunch into a ball in the pocket and I have to rewash it

I always took mine out. I wanted to make sure they got clean. The inserts were rarely wet in the back so I just pulled it out.

This...pulling a gunky pocket out of the washer is yucky. DP was terrible about remembering to pull the inserts out of DC pockets, so it would happen occasionally. I had to just toss them back in the pail to rewash.

The one time I forgot to unstuff a couple of BG4.0s the insert wadded itself into a ball inside the diaper. I had to rewash as it didn't seem like they got fully clean.
