is the recommended wash load 24 diapers?

is the recommended wash load 24 diapers esp if many are aio/ai2/pockets? dunno if i read this somewhere, but looking for confirmation! we wash 40+ majority flats/pf's and things are going well. we had a tougher time with stink issues w/40+ pockets/pf's mix. any comments/thoughts welcome!

I wash every 2-2 1/2 days for 2 kids and always have more than 24 diapers. We have never had stink issue and everything comes out very clean.

I think in some of the newer he washers it helps to have a good amount. I have washed 30 PFs together before.....I wonder if pockets or aio need more space to agitate?

I have pockets. I do like 20 pockets with mama cloth & wipes & few dipes with 2 inserts. Whbatever fits in my sterilite container I use as my pail. Doubles take up more room. Few mamas here say they rinse all & less stink. I like wet pail but messy to empty.

With pockets, you want room for the inserts to wiggle out...think >24 prefolds would be OK!

I think it would depend on the size of your drum & type of machine. I would think somewhere between a 1/2 sized & full load for your machine would probably be ideal. Although, back in my day I washed some pretty small loads (1-3 dipes) just because I couldn't stand to leave disgusting dipes sitting around. I certainly would wash my clothes ASAP if they fell in my toilet LOL!

What size wash load (top loader) does everyone select? Medium? I usually do med and have about 6 NB AIOs plus 5-10 fitteds and a few pf's and covers. It pretty much fills my skinny trash can but seems like a really small load in the machine (top loader)
