Re: Sign language...what stage did you teach yours?
I don't think there is a "right" age to start. We just start whenever we start using those words with baby - we do signs for "please", "thank you", "more", "all done", and "sleepy". That's about it.
So, whenever we start using those words with the babies, we'll start saying them along with doing the sign. By the time the boys were 8-9 months old they were at least attempting to use all the signs. (we didn't do any signs with DD)

Quote:
She will sign "milk" but say "mama". She does the "all done" sign and says "up". She is 18 months. I started letting her watch Baby einstien videos (free on youtube). I signed a little and she really picked it up. She is talking more now but still uses her signs. (she especially will sign if upset).

Never too early! I find starting singing as soon as possible helps me remember to continue to sign. I forget for weeks on end sometimes.
![]() DD started signing back around 9 months 'more' was a favorite of hers. She picked it up easy and would sign whole thoughts. DS just starting signing at 15 months and of course its 'more' ![]() Most likely nursing and typing. Please pardon any mistakes. |

Re: Sign language...what stage did you teach yours?
I started my boys around 3-4 months. Now, at 4 1/2, my youngest is wanting to pick it up again and is always asking me for signs.
He loves to sign "gotta go poop!". Among other things, lol. |
