Can Fuzzibunz elites be used as covers?
I'm tired of stuffing pockets and, instead of selling my few Fuzzibunz Elites, I'm wondering if I can use them as covers for lay-in inserts or hemp prefolds... For example, in the manner that I use a Softbums Echo (just laying the insert on top where the insert touches baby's skin, not the diaper lining).
I didn't know if the FB 'fleec-y' fabric was intended to allow wetness through to be absorbed by the layer inside the pocket? I think that other diapers like Softbums have fleecy interiors that are supposed to kind of repel liquid so it can be absorbed by the lay-in insert, right? I just didn't want to have the FB start accumulating liquid between the lining and the TPU instead of it being caught by the insert. Am I getting this wrong, or are all linings pretty much the same? Any insight appreciated! |

I do it with BumGenius pockets all the time and love it.

You can. Not much is cut narrow enough to be accommodated by the Elite, but that minky can be worn against the skin, so just lay your minky insert in like an AI2.

Re: Can Fuzzibunz elites be used as covers?
Oh, wow. I never thought about laying the minky on top!
Has anyone ever tried to put a snap in the minky insert and on the front of the FB interior so that it could snap in? I don't think it would work to put a snap on the back of the FB interior because of the gap where the pocket opening is. Curious if it would bunch up or move around without a snap... |

Re: Can Fuzzibunz elites be used as covers?
Since they are a pretty trim diaper, if the fit is good I can't see the insert shifting too much...I'm not sure I would want to bother using them that way, but I suppose it is worth a shot before destashing and trying something new!
