Yeah the hospital is joked that you should walk in and choose Jackson or New Orleans or Baton Rouge and exit immediately haha. They're doing something different here than anything available in BFE

Re: Medication Issues

Trying to remember what I was taking to be able to pump to donate... OK, I went and looked at the other board I'm on. My Fenugreek Seed was 610mg. The ladies over there suggested 3 pills three times a day for a total of 9 pills a day for major bump in supply and 3 pills once a day for not so big a bump. I noticed it took about a week or so to see a significant difference.

FWIW, I had to stop with the Fenugreek a couple weeks after taking it because both Noah and I started to have side effects.

I got some tummy cramps and diarrhea the first day.
I also smelled like maple syrup... my pee, breath, sweat, everything... lol. DH didn't mind.

I took 3 pills, 3x a day. My milk almost tripled within 72 hours.

Re: Medication Issues

Noah starting throwing up (again) and both of us had digestive upset. I don't know if Noah's vomiting was because of the fenugreek itself or because my over supply/over active letdown, but I also developed wicked headaches.

I had no idea about the side effects until I started having them and looked it up to see if they could be related. Here is WebMD's information page on it with a side effects tab:
http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supple...Name=FENUGREEK
Though there are other sites that say slightly different things.

I cut my Fenugreek down but we still had issues. I stopped all my supplements (fenugreek and hops), stopped pumping to donate and everything went away. I added Hops back in, to make sure it was in fact just the fenugreek, and was fine. I do have Mother's Milk tea that I take every so often when I feel like I need a bump and have never had issues with that.

I ended up being transferred to Jackson's UMC and I had an abscess so now I have a drain in it and I get to take horse pill antibiotics...at home! I'm still bloated and look 6 months prego because of it but I should be better soon. I'm on all safe medications and after some struggles my son will take the breast again (he wouldn't at first and I had some serious tears!). For pain I'm taking Norco every 4 hours. I've lost a lot of weight but I can't tell in my belly due to bloating but my face is thinning out.

I posted a picture of my wonderful drain bag haha this was right before I left to go home. You have to learn to laugh with these things.

I'm glad you're home, things are improving, and your son is back to breast feeding!
