Juice
Do you give your child juice? If so, what kind?

No juice here. If we do any for a special treat or if she's sick we do pear from our juicer mixed with water. Juice of any kind in any quantity gives my babies horrible rashes.

Re: Juice
DD started getting orange juice regularly for breakfast around 18months. She did not get juice prior to that. She was happy drinking water, so I saw no reason to add the sugars. Now she drinks water during the day and milk at mealtimes.
I'm a bit particular when it comes to her teeth.

We do small amounts if apple or orange 100% juice for my 15 month old. Maybe 2 oz at a time, sometimes diluted. She also drinks Vitalyte sometimes and really likes that.
Not every day, maybe 2-3x/week. Last edited by mamaspice; 01-06-2013 at 04:46 PM. |

Yes, but I juice it myself and it's usually vegetables like cabbage, cucumber, lemon juice

Very small amounts. She gets a little bit of fresh squeezed OJ in the morning. Sometimes she doesn't even finish it. She might take a sip of my lemonade or cranberry juice at dinner, but that's it. Otherwise it's water or mommy milk

Rarely, if so like 1 part juice to 3-4 parts water. We mostly drink water and milk here.

Re: Juice
Just water here. Our 3y/o gets juice for a treat maybe once a month or something, but we (DH and I) also stick to water most of the time, so we just don't keep it around the house.

Re: Juice
When the kids were younger, we didn't give them a lot of juice. What we did give them was usually watered down.
As for what kind, are you talking what brand, or what fruit? For brands, we typically did Welch's 100% juice and they were the white grape blends for the most part. The last couple of years we've mostly bought Simply Apple and Simply Orange. |

We use the V8 smoothies currently and dilute them about 50/50. He gets a sippie every afternoon of it. Milk or water the rest of the day.
