Vent - DS outgrew his winter boots already
We bought DS's boots about 6 weeks ago and today when we were getting bundled up to go outside, he complained that his boots were hurting his toes. Sure enough, his little toes are right at the ends.
I'll have to get him another pair, but I'm frustrated. DH just started his first post-school job and we just moved, and had a bunch of car repair bills; a new pair of boots just isn't in the budget plan right now (though we can make it work).DS isn't even 3 yet and he outgrew size 11 Boggs...I don't know whether to get him 12s or just get 1s and hope they fit next year too. |

Re: Vent - DS outgrew his winter boots already
That sucks! Because of my boys growing like weeds, I tend to buy boots 1-1.5 sizes too big and double up on thick socks until they grow into them. Snow boots are so expensive that my brain might explode if I had to replace them partway through the season.

I usually always buy boots in January, Canadian winter so 6 months of wearing snow boots. In general I find buying in January cheaper than buying in say Sept/Oct. Last year I paid $9 for my sons boots and was so thrilled with that that I bought 2 more pairs in extra sizes

Buy them bigger and double up on thick socks. Boots don't have to be $$$ but they have to fit to be useful.

Re: Vent - DS outgrew his winter boots already
I size up and layer with socks too. We're in MD so I don't spend a ton on boots because snow is scarce here. I don't need the best that need to be worn daily, I need ones that keep their feet dry after a few hours of playing in the snow between 1-3 times a season.
