Re: Ae you house poor? Do you regret it?
No we are "recovery" poor!
We are poor because of the "recovery" and DH not having a job for 7 months in 2011. The house we were able to just refinance because we were not that underwater. I really feel bad for the people that can't refinance. My mom is one of those. She is so far underwater I think she can see the Titanic! She can't find anyone that will refinance her. She can afford the house, but it would make things easier if it was at a lower rate. Oh and yes she TOTALLY regrets getting the house when she did. She would be happier renting right now because they could afford more renting then what their current house is. Really sad!

We were house poor and now we no longer have a house....a series of unfortunate events. Don't count on anything.

We are under water in our home. We have a very secure job and purchased this home with the promise of a certain income....which never happened...(mainly because of the market)
If its within your means then why not??? We love our home and would never consider leaving! Under water or not. |
