Baby Sick

I'm not sure where to post this. But my 4 month old baby is sick with her first cold. I feel soooo bad for her. I want to be able to do something more for her to help her breathe easier. She has lots of green snot and coughs from her swallowing all the stuff in her sinuses. I stood over the tub with her with hot water streaming on us. They helped a little, but does anyone know of any EO or natural remedies safe for babies to help her out. Any ideas??

Homeopathics can really help with colds. I'm not sure what there is available for babies, but I've used Hyland's cough stuff for my older kids and it helped. I got it at Wal-mart in the kids medicine near the pharmacy. If there is a natural/health food store near you that carries homeopathic a, they might be able to recommend something! Hope your little one gets feeling better soon!

oops this is in the wrong area you can request a mod to move it for you. Saline spray in her nose and sucking out the yuck is the best thing you can do. we have a babycomfy nasal aspirator that is awesome but the blue boggie pump they gave you at the hossy will work. Look on youtube for an instructional video if you are not sure how to do it. Hope LO is better soon.

Nosefrieda - seriously the best thing ever. The bulb-type just never worked for us (I think we have weird shaped noses). Use it right after steaming her out... when DD is sick she has enforced playtime in the bathroom whenever anyone is getting a shower :-)
A humidifier in her room might help (or wherever she sleeps) just make sure to keep it clean!
When she's sleeping, try to keep her head elevated a bit - I know they don't recommend using a pillow or boppy, but if she's napping on the couch and you are right next to her - I would do it. Or let her sleep on your chest.

Vicks vapor rub on her feet will help too.
