Re: best natural shampoo for kids

I used Dr. Bronners on my kids for a while...but my ds2s scalp got HORRIBLY dry and flaky. Almost looked like cradle cap again! I stopped using the Dr. Bronners and it cleared up. I did use the lavender version not the baby version, not sure if that made a difference.

The castile soap leaves it smelling great and manageable, though it has an odd texture for a few days until the oils work back through it. I use Lavendar Dr Bronner.
She's 5. DS is almost 2, and so far I've just been using their bar soap on his hair.

I really like Shea Moisture products and Salon Naturals. Shea Moisture is at some target stores, made more for dry or ethnic hair. I have naturally curly dry hair and their shampoos are they only ones I have ever tried that did not dry out my hair. Salon Naturals is online only, love their products!

I use California baby SS on my itty bitty. I switched to Kiss My Face Shampoo and Conditioner once DD1 got longer hair and it has been great. Her hair is much easier to brush and looks so healthy. Tear free usually just means they add a numbing agent so it doesnt burn

Just one thing to be alert to: Calendula has incredible soothing and healing properties, but it is in the ragweed family, which is a very prominent family for allergies. If there is any sort of hayfever in your house, you will want to avoid Calendula. And you may want to rotate the use of calendula with products made with oils from other families.

I second California Baby for my two boys 5 and 2. Only once a week at the most though. Water is fine most of the time.

Over 80% of baby shampoos contain formaldehyde tear free equals formaldehyde... go with organic... personally id rather hav my baby hav a lil burning than chemicals in thier eyes... you can also try the wipe beans that u melt in water n spray babys bum for diaper change
