It is Little Tykes and we got it at Toys R Us. I'm in Canada but I'm sure I've seen it on Amazon. It's made of wood and very sturdy. It seemed less obtrusive than some of the plastic ones. And we don't have an Ikea close by so it was a good compromise

Thanks I just looked it up and they do have it on amazon I don't want a plastic one and I love some of the boutiquey looking wood kitchens but they are sooo expensive and don't have everything I want. I love the washer it is so cute thanks

My DH separated the pallets and removed all nails. Then he ran the wood through a thickness planer. Then he lined up boards and glued them together (so it looked like wood paneling). After the glue dried, he cut the boards to size and nailed them together. Then he painted it.

Once I get the toys actually put away, I will post a picture.

Is that pallet wood as in leftovers from stores like Walmart? I read that those have chemicals and poisons treated into the wood. Or is reclaimed pallet wood something else?

some pallet wood is chemically treated, but you can check for a stamp that says HT to be sure it is heat treated and safe. {It will have an HT followed by a bunch of numbers and the stamp is wood burned into the 2x4} You have more luck finding HT with food pallets IME, but you can find them randomly used for anything.

I'm jumping in without reading the whole thing, but we actually don't keep any toys outside the bedroom or playroom, and it's really been awesome since we made that rule. They are allowed to take toys into the living room or kitchen to play, but they have to put them away at the end of the day.
