That's awesome! DS2 has a severe speech delay, so I know how awesome those victories feel. The other day he said "hippo" out of the blue (while holding his stuffed hippo). It was beautiful!

DS also has a severe speech issue. (I hesitate to say "delay" as I think it is more of a disorder...) Anyways, I love hearing success stories! That is wonderful!

There is something that just tugs at your heart when you hear their little voices say something for the first time. DS2 is 5 and is in speech therapy. He just learned to say his name correctly. His name is Evan and he has always called himself Eh-en. When I heard him say his name correctly the first time, I just started bawling. I just had never heard it out of his little mouth before.

That is so wonderful. We love our speech therapists too! They do a wonderful service!

Aw I know this feeling. My son is in speech and he's talking so much more now then he was 2 months ago its awesome.

Yay! I have been reflecting lately on how much speech therapy has helped my youngest. She graduated from the program last month after only 9 months of very hard work. As she said, "I love you, Mommy," last night at bedtime I realized that less than a year ago, she wasn't even speaking enough for them to fully evaluate her for the program and now,she says so many wonderful things.

can't wait til my 11 year old says something to me! I just know its coming, I dream of him talking often. It's a challenge living with special needs, but it sure does make us appreciate the small things doesn't it
