This. I really hate gowns and also having their tiny shirts ride up every time they get picked up so onsie or nothing. Or onsie unsnapped a lot too. Was longer so it didn't ride up as much. Aden + Anais swaddle blankets were nice and breathable in the Summer.

Kate Quinn Sleep gown(I usually have 2) with an undershirt or onsie swaddled in an A+A. Then when they outgrow the gowns I get 2 Halo cotton Sleep Sacks and they wear a long sleeve onsie under. Our babies run hot and we co-sleep so they need natural fibers.

Both my boys were just in diapers in the summer.

It's cold in our house year round. So, we've always (even now at 2.5) done PJs + a sleep sack.

In the summer my babies sleep in onsies because we co-sleep and I don't want them to get too hot!

Gowns. Love them! Didn't use with my first but did with my second and I recommend to everyone now. So easy and so snuggly.

Diaper and that's it. Maybe a t-shirt the 1st wk when regulating temp.
Even winter babies go sockless with a long sleeve t and maybe babylegs and soaker or coverless. We keep our house freezing but co- sleep and our babies are hot boxes

Re: What did/does your newborn sleep in?

I hate sleep sacks. For our summer baby, we did just a onesie. For our winter baby we did stretchy-bottom night gowns...or just whatever he was wearing that day. We really don't do bedtime clothing changes until 1 yr or so (just makes more work for me).

We keep our house warm and they coslept with us under our comforter so usually just a diaper and shirt or a gown. Then they were swaddled but that was light cotton not fleece. even my December baby.

DS was an august baby. We keep our house about 70 on average. Sometimes 68 in the summer. He usually slept in a footed sleeper or a onesie and swaddle. He was not a huge swaddle fan for long so ot was hit or miss.
