Newborn diapering and the Cord Stump?

How have people handled the cord stump? CDed my son from 4 months on and now I want to start at day 1...is this realistic? I have some lil joey AIOs and swaddlebees simplex newborns. Both have the snap down for the cord stump--

Any other diapers that worked from day 1?

The Bummis Super Lite fit under. So did BG XS if i folded the front down a little. Prowraps did and Lil joeys definitely did. I had a 6 pounder. Well two 6 pounders but didn't have good NB diapers at all for #1.

Prefolds and flats with wool or fleece work great. GMD workhorse folded down. Pretty much most good quality WAHM newborn fitteds. Thirsties Duo are thin enough to fold down. Nikky cotton are by far my fav newborn cover and it has a cord cutout.

ETA: Never tried Lil Joey but Simplex were too bulky with leg gaps on my small newborn. By the time they fit better aroun 9-10 lbs he had already lost his cord stump.
