Is his nose stuffy? If his nose is stuffed up, he could be struggling to breath while nursing which makes it harder and less inviting. Mine has been having this. We had a virus recently and it's taking it's time completely clearing.

He also could be getting more efficient. Most babies do at some point and it often worries mom. My almost 3 month old has started nursing more efficiently and for not as long.

For mine, I'm pretty sure it is a combination of having a stuffy nose and being more efficient (we had a virus recently and it's taking it's time completely clearing) .

Its hard for me to nurse sleeping because my breasts are so large they almost suffocate him if i dont pay attention. Ive still got my fingers crossed that its just cus he was sick.

I completely understand! I always have to nurse 2 handed. When I see people say they are nursing at the computer I always do this I can't. If I let go of the boob, baby loses it, doesn't matter the position. I can nurse laying down though. But, it took me till my 4th and 5th kids to be able to. I learned out of desperation for sleep since I had 27 month old twins and newborn twins and a 4 year old and NEEDED sleep. Now, on #6, I'm sort of a pro at it. I say sort of because it definitely is not the best position and will sometimes cause me soreness, but I live with and do it often. The price of sleep!

My daughter is 3 1/2 months and has recently started feeding that way too. I just figured she is getting more efficient.

Heather, i do believe it was because of his runny nose! He seems to be alot better today and his feeding times are back to normal as far as length goes! Im def hoping tonight i get a few more hours of sleep out of him! And my goodness, i think im busy, i cant imagine having one set of twins much less two! Kuddos to you mama! I am impressed!
