We're trying to decide whether to homeschool our DS. He is very mechanically inclined and we worry that school won't nurture that aspect of him at all, but we aren't exactly sure how we will either.
Has anyone had any experience setting up learning opportunities for kids with mechanics or carpenters or anything like that?

Re: Apprenticeships?

Not really apprenticeships, no, but our kids arent really old enough yet. However, most areas have some sort of technical school or college for high school and up that you should be able to take advantage of.

If you want an apprenticeship in the more traditional sense, I would start cultivating a relationship with someone who does that sort of thing.
