Idea for coats if a closet isnt available?

we have hooks on the wall right now, but it looks awful. I put our bags in the dresser next to the hooks and that helped a bit, but it still looks cluttered. I only allow one coat and one hoodie per hook {we layer if its really cold}, but it just bulges out all cluttered. Any ideas? Im thinking that spacing the hooks out more might look better, but Im not sure and don't want to move anything.

We hang all our coats on one of those over the door racks....on the back of doors so you don't even see them.

Do you have closets in the bedroom? That is where I keep everyones coat in there own closet in the bedroom. Otherwise maybe some sort of bench seat that opens up and put it at the entryway. You can store the coats in there.

hanging rack on bedroom door, even the kind you use for towels in the bathroom that slip over the top of the door.

We have a coat rack that DH made that holds the adult coats. We have a small rack mounted on the wall that holds the kids' coats. It sometimes becomes a bit messy, as the kids have a habit of hanging their bags on there as well, but I just make sure to clean it off periodically.

we don't have any doors downstairs apart from the front and back door, and they both have windows. DH and I have room in our closet, but the kids closet is a quiet time area...and I just have to ask...do you guys really go upstairs to put coats away, or are you all one level? That would impress me, lol. I have a trunk at the end of our bed that might work....it doesn't hold much right now. Thanks for the tip

I would suggest coat rack/, tree like stated like if kids go outside to hang to dry....

We bought a coat rack for $13 at Walmart. It's gorgeous and has really cleared up the living room because we'd leave our coats on the sofa!

We have over the door hooks too, but I need to go through the coats. There is no reason that all six hooks have multiple things on them when there are only three people living here!
