I have only had a little manual one for both girls. With dd1 I had to take a class a couple for a couple of hours, one night a week for a few weeks. That is all I pumped for. With this baby I have pumped...maybe 8 times? but she refuses bottles anyway so most of the milk was dumped.

Probably dump the milk because it sat in a bottle that they were trying to get baby to drink from so it was in contact with saliva. Can't donate half eaten breastmilk

No you don't need a pump if everything is going well.
I am jealous of yours and babys sleeping time though...
