Out and about option

We have been having awful leaks when out and about, I'm assuming its compression leaks as we don't have the issue at home. We use Alva pockets and switched to natural fibers to stuff (hemp and bamboo) but still have leaks. I want an easy option that dh will like, needs to be all one piece essentially so pockets, AIO something like that. DD is 18 months and 23 pounds. Any suggestions? I also don't want to spend a ton. At this point dh is pushing for sposies when we go out and I'm starting to feel the same way but really love cloth!

Re: Out and about option

You'll get a lot less compression leaking with a natural fiber aio, so I'd suggest OsoCozy or Nana's if you want cheap.

Re: Out and about option

Try adding cotton doublers, they can help! Cotton absorbs more quickly than hemp and bamboo, which really makes a difference if the leaks are maybe from fast pee. Good luck

FreeTimes have been working really well for us... I actually like using Flip w stay dry inserts for traveling but it might not be as Daddy friendly!

Our favorite out and about diapers tend to be natural fibers as well- both because they are trim and absorbent. Current faves are Swaddlebees Simplex, Bottombumpers and Peachy Green AIO's.

Update: first I tried to just lay a cotton cloth wipe in the diaper to help with "fast pee" as suggested by a mama here and had fairly good success. It was for a quick run to the store but no leaks! Don't know if it would work for a longer time frame.
Bought a few fitteds off fsot and some covers, tried that combo when running errands the other day with limited access to change her and an hour car ride and no leaks! She actually fell asleep on the way home and I laid her down figuring she would be soaked when she got up. Well the fitted was but she was dry!
Woohoo! No more sposies when leaving the house
