Diaper Swappers

I hope im not over posting here. As soon as I think of something I post. Just starting out and im excited and OBSESSED with cloth already and I didnt even get my first diaper in the mail yet. IM buying all used so far and this is what will be on its way in the near future.

3 GMD workhorse
4 prowrap covers
6 tinkle traps
3 small bummis
1 small bummis super snap
2 litewrap covers
1 mutt fitted
2 pianissimo fitteds
5 grovia nb aio
and a snappie

I know I still need more. Im going to get some prefolds and flats for sure.

I would love more info on wool and fleece covers and some explanation on soakers and doublers??? Im pretty confused on these and if I need them with any of the above. I really want to make sure im prepared and not setting myself up for failure.

Should I add some pockets to the mix?? What should I add to this stash?

I am not a fan of nb pockets. I do have 2 but I will not be purchasing more. They are so tiny to stuff and you can not stuff them too much bc then there will be gaps. This is my exp. with them I know others love them.

Are your aios for out and about and or night time. I think that is a good number. I think you have enough covers--what size are they. If you rounded your stash off with pfs and flats them I think you would have enough bc I think before them you had around 17 diapers or around there right?

so a total od nb diapers 36 is good IMO and 6-8 covers are good

I do not use wool bc we are allergic BOO! But the fleece nb covers are so adorable and so are the pants...I am having a hard time not buying them! My issue would be trying to find NB t-shirts bc I do not like putting onsies over a fleece soaker.

Conclussion I also think way to much about clothe diapers LOL!

My suggestions are not as fun, but they are efficient. For DD2, we did prefolds and thirsties covers. For the babies, we are doing prefolds and covers as well. For singletons and triplets alike, nothing is more efficient than that! So easy to launder and fold (ahem, stack).

We are transitioning to grovia's for daycare, so I will miss the simple prefold days! It's funny how much I've changed over the years.

I like proraps and thirsties covers because of the double gusset. Really helpful with the runny ebf poop.

figured I get the AIO for daddy and grandma or who ever needs easy that might change the baby and NOT like the fact that IM CD'ing.. my husband is on board but I know he will get confused and frustrated with prefolds and flats..lol so the fitteds and the AIO are for him.... I heard pockets were good for night but im learning so I really dont know.

Theoriginalpumpkin, are flats and a cover really enough? Like I said totally new and I know alot of people do that but theres no leaking? Im worried about the same with a prefold and cover.. I feel like i need something else to go in there??

I can totally understand. Not much to add as I am new too but I feel my mind is full of cloth diapering options (it doesn't help that I am on bed rest and there isn't much to do)

. I was going to do all prefolds and covers but moved into getting some AIOs and fitteds too. I have heard that if you plan on just folding the prefolds in the covers then it is more likely you will have to change the cover more often on a newborn because of their runny poop

. So I would think about whether you plan on folding the prefolds mainly or if you are going to snappi them mostly. That should help you determine the number of covers you will need. Good luck!

Probably be folding them and using a snappie. Im all about trying to contain the mess! Its a challenge for me to try to keep the cover clean... And Ill need a million just bc they are cute and who can stop them selves! This is dangerous! IM not on bedrest but pretty much have to lay in bed or sit in a chair all day bc I have hyperemesis and movement makes me sick. So what do i do! All things cloth diaper related!
