best way to sell prefolds
I have a TON of new, prepped prefolds and flats from All Together Diaper Company (which is now osocozy, right?) once upon a time, I was going to dye diapers as a side business, but then I got divorced and moved, and turned into a working, student, single mom, and now they've been sitting in storage for a while.
anyway, I want to clean it out, and I was wondering what the best way to sell them was, because I know the shipping is expensive. in lots PPD? Individually ppd? individually plus shipping? I was thinking a set price individually, then shipping priority flat rate. also, what would you pay for new, prepped prefolds? what about for hand dyed ones? |

Re: best way to sell prefolds
Have you tried Craigslist or a local diaper swap group? Then you wouldn't have to pay all that shipping.

Re: best way to sell prefolds
That's a good idea, I think prefolds are heavy to ship!

They are heavy, so I'd use a flat rate box and stuff them in there!
I'd love to buy some dyed ones, as long as they don't bleed. I really love dyed prefolds!

Re: best way to sell prefolds
The best way to ship is 2 doz in a MFRB for $12. I would sell in sets of 12 per size but 24 per person. I would pay less if they were dyed. But that is just personal preferance. If you are trying to make all your money back, sell locally to a diaper service or to individual families. If you just want to make a little and clear them all out sell for osocozy seconds prices, theyll go fast

I gifted a bunch to a friend of mine, and she loves them. I dyed some for ds when he was little too.mamamarisa, do you happen to know what the seconds prices are? I want to get them out of here, but I also want to make some money if possible too, lol marbie, what would you pay for dyed prefolds? theyre all solid colors, I never did learn how to do the LWI dying like I wanted to. |

Re: best way to sell prefolds
If you can sell on Craigslist or a local Facebook page that would save you on shipping. I was able to sell a lot of mine that way. If you are selling and have to ship I would see how many you can fit in FRB and ship that way. They more you can stuff, the better price you can get out of them.
I think for new prepped prefolds you can get pretty close to retail prices because of the prep time. I personally would not pay more for hand died prefolds, but that just because I'm always covering my prefolds up so I wouldn't want to pay extra for that. |

As for how much I would pay, probably $2 to $4 per prefold is what I'd *like* to pay. I looked at the prices of dyed prefolds online and you can get 3 dyed osokosy prefolds for $7.50 on Amazon and on a WAHM site, which seems like a great deal. I also saw $6 each on HC, 6 for $26 on Etsy, and 3 for $26 (what!?) on another site. I'm not sure I could afford 24 plus $12 for shipping though! What size do you have again? Are these Indian or Chinese?
