New(er) Samsung FL?

Anyone here have newer model Samsung front loaders? I'd love your special tricks/tips if you've learned to master washing CDs! I'm just starting out, and of course we had recently invested in this set before I started doing my CD research.

Thanks in advance!

Re: New(er) Samsung FL?

I have a new model Samsung FL. Here's my routine:
Pre-rinse on COLD with no spin, then Heavy duty wash on HOT (spin: extra high, soil level: heavy) with extra rinse. Then an additional rinse at the end. I hang the shells/covers to dry (outside preferably) and tumble dry the inserts and wipes

I use Tide F&G up to the "1" line.

I've been CD'ing for 6 months without a problems, using mostly microfiber.

Cool, thanks! So, you select the "extra rinse" button and then do an ADDITIONAL rinse-only cycle (total of three)?

Thanks for your input!

Mine is similar to PP with some small exceptions.

Rinse and spin on high in cold (I used to use the quickwash setting but it takes longer and I didn't notice any difference)
Rinse and spin with NO spin (to saturate the diapers)
Heavy duty on low spin in hot with extra rinse
Quick wash on high in warm as my last rinse

I have normal water, use a variety of diapers, CD an infant and a toddler and wash every 2 days. I use cheer powder to the 2 line. I just like the smell better than tide and get the same results. I have also had success with EcoSprout but had to use more than the recommended amount.

Yes. I used to just do the heavy duty cycle with "extra rinse" selected but was still noticing suds on my Planet Wise pail liner so I started doing an additional rinse only cycle at the end. That tacks on an additional 19 minutes but it's worth it not to have to strip for build up.

Hope that helps

I'm not sure what you mean by "newer" as mine us about 3 years old. I do not have this mysterious "prewash" setting. But i love it :-) and we have had a fairly easy time with the dipes.
- rinse and spin cycle with cold rinse, NO spin
- heavy duty cycle with hot wash, cold rinse plus extra wash and extra rinse.
That's it :-). We wash twice weekly and have a mix of BGEs and 4.0's.

Re: New(er) Samsung FL?

I am bookmarking this page! We are buying a house with a 3 year old Samsung FLer. Nervous to have to find a new routine, but we're leaving behind a 6 year old Frigidaire so I figure this is an upgrade.

I was in the same boat. We bought this house and decided it was time for a "grown-up" W&D. Love it so far, just have to get in the groove for CD washing!

Thanks! Mine was recently purchased in the last few months, but I figured if folks had a newer model it wouldn't be too different.

Glad to hear that you're still pleased in the long run!

Re: New(er) Samsung FL?

Are you able to add more water through the liquid detergent dispenser? That's what I currently do at the start of the long hot wash with detergent cycle. I have to get my on-demand water heater prepped for a couple of minutes anyway, so I catch some of the water and then add it right into my frigidaire.

This is the new (to us) washer. You know you're a CDer when you take a pic of the washer settings so you can review them later!
