Yay! My 21 mo old is FINALLY starting to talk!!

She's a late talker (compared to my other two early talkers...) and I just wanted to share.

I am so excited b/c my baby just turned 21 mos old, and she is finally starting to communicate more, and trying to talk more. She only had maybe 5-10 words at 18 mos, so this is a big explosion over the past few weeks!!!

For all the other mamas out there worrying, it will happen.

She says:

Amazing how fast it happened!!! I'm just excited I don't have to worry about her anymore.


oh and she has JUST started making a pretend burp and saying "Scooo me" (excuse me - she learned that from the two olders)

my dd is a very late talker...she didn't start speaking until 24months and then over christmas break she doubled her vocab!

now we are working on more than 1 word sentences.

awww, so you know the excitement and giddyness I am feeling! lol.

I was just watching her toddle over to me and point to the crackers and say "GACK!" (for snack). I was kind of awe-struck and teary eyed. Cause I was worried there for a bit. My other two talked super early EARLY early. So it has been a bit of a roller coaster for me emotionally. And hard to be patient.

She kept saying "GACK! mama GACK!" Then I said "Snack?" She shook her head yes and said "GACK!!! GACK! pease!"

awww. my heart welled up. and I had to share with some fellow mamas.

even some other moms at our play group noticed her "chatting" more today

Dh still has a hard time understanding her so I have to interpret..."Gi-ga" is Daniel Tiger (her favorite PBS show)

Yay!, for chatty kids! That's awesome that she had a vocabulary explosion!

Wow. She has a bigger vocabulary than my 30 month old!

All 3 of my kids were on the late side. My older 2 didn't start talking until after 2 and then all of a sudden they had a language explosion and were caught up in no time. My younger dd didn't have words at 16 months. At 17 months she had a few words and then bam she had the explosion and I had a long list I could write down and she started putting words together soon after. I love watching it in action! It can happen so fast.
