I love the name.

ETA: I'd rather the connotation be with Shakespeare than Twilight or something equally awful.

I guess I should have added...if it reminds you of the story, is it in a bad way? Dh is not only convinced that everyone will think of the story but also think of an idiotic teenage girl. I think he's just being dramatic (and a royal pain, since he won't discuss any other names.)

Re: Baby name survey!

It does not remind me of romeo and juliet at all! But either way it's a lovely name!

It was our girl name at first! But it got changed.

At first, hearing Juliette did remind me of the book, but I think of beauty after hearing it instead now. I adore the name.

Re: Baby name survey!

It immediately makes me think of the play...not in a bad way that characterizes the girl, just that Juliet (& spelling variants) must be one of the most famous girl names in the English-speaking world.

No, but I think of The show Psych. I reall like the name, but u can kinda see where your DH is coming from. Are there any variations if the name you can both agree on? Julia? Juliana?

Lol psych is actually where I got it from. He won't discuss any other girls names. I like knowing our girl and boy name before the ultrasound, but now that we settled on his favorite boy name, he's checked out. Doesn't want to talk girl names at all (and I've even offered others besides Juliette, just trying to start a discussion.)

My friends daughter is Juliet and I have never thought of Romeo and Juliet. Giulietta is on our name list for girls. I obviously think it's lovely.

Yes but I still love it. It is on my list of names. I like Ophelia as well though.
