Yes. I have to know where they are at all times.

There are very few times that I wouldn't know where my kids are. Sometimes DH will take them somewhere, but I don't think that really counts bc he is their parent. We have awesome family who we would trust, but they don't have much occasion to take them anywhere without us. My sister is flying Ava up to Maine this weekend for a visit with my parents. I know what they have planned, mostly staying home and playing in the snow. We also have a few families that we are very close with from.church that we would trust explicitly with our kids. But that's all theoretical...our kids haven't really spent that much time away from us, playing at friends houses.

Now, if we left the kids with a babysitter and she decided to take the them somewhere, I wouldn't be pleased.

Re: Do you feel the need to know where your child is?

My kids generally don't go anywhere without an older sib. So, if my 3 y/o goes to Papa's the 10 y/o and 16 y/o are there, too. My Dad is great w/the grandkids. He takes them, everywhere and shows them off! However, I usually don't leave my kids overnight until age 3 and never w/o an older sib. As a sexual abuse survivor, I just won't do it.

With family? No not really. With friends I do try to get an idea of their plans. When he's running around the neighborhood, he knows he needs to tell me which friends house he will be at.
