What's your favorite airplane/car toy for a 3yo?

We travel alot, and I feel like I bring too much stuff trying to cover all the possible toddler desires.
If you could only pack one or two toys for a 10+ hour trip, what would they be?

(You can skip iPad/iPhone siggestions, since we already carry those anyway)

Doodle pad, besides the TV in the plane that seems the most used by our DS.

I think these are GREAT ideas.

Do you have a portable DVD player? I find ours to be a total lifesaver on long trips. I let my otherwise normal kids turn into drooling screen zombies until we arrive at our destination.

Expensive, but the Crayola Color Wonders are great because there is no mess! I get a little coloring book and we have some of the sheets that are black with print behind them that make colored patterns from the marker too. Also, my daughter recently got a sticker book (Giant Sticker Activity First Words) with over 300 stickers and they are numbered to match up on the images on other pages. She can be occupied iwth that for a while. Have a good trip!

Magnadoodle. It's always in the car and it gets played with constantly.

Re: What's your favorite airplane/car toy for a 3yo?

How much mess can you stand? I bring a little craft bag with crayons, scissors, construction paper, pipe cleaners, those puffy ball things, glue sticks, googly eyes, and any other thing like that that catches my eye and a little lap table. I am forever picking up construction paper odds and ends, but it keeps them occupied for forever! (Note: I can't let my 18 mo. old have this stuff in the car without adult help, but my 3 yo does pretty well with it -- minus the glue most of the time. But, for planes it is awesome and gives me something to do too!)
