Re: Very close to buying a yurt...will be hanging out in here a lot.
Been trying to find a floorplan maker for a round house. No luck so far. Anyone know of one? TIA.

Pacific Yurts has a few cool pictures of Yurt pods where they've connected 2 or more together with tunnels.

Thanks. I've looked at every picture, floorplan, design that there is to find on the internet. I'm really wanting to start designing our own now!

How very exciting! My parents are building a yurt on their little trac of land on an island in northern MN. They will be putting in a wood stove for heat so they can ski over there in the winter

What a fun adventure!! We toyed with yurt living for a bit and gave up once seeing many people run into zoning issues and the like. I don't have any advice on designing your own, but I do remember one I saw with a "bedroom" downstairs and a loft on top of that with the small living space and kitchen taking up the rest. I loved that one
I also saw one on stilts with some storage underneath...thinking this might be useful for bikes and the like as kids get older. I'm really interested in your journey! Definitely post here if you start a blog! I'd love to live vicariously through you and maybe hope for the future

Re: Very close to buying a yurt...will be hanging out in here a lot.
Oh and also, you mentioned having trouble with the staying decluttered...I am currently trying the "one it, one out" method for anything other than food (I do not keep a stocked pantry other than spices). It is going well so far (for about a month). It is hard to do when I bring in mail and the like, but I try to do it immediately and not set it down anywhere before taking care of whatever needs to me done. It is pretty easy with anything else like a gift or large item. So I wonder if that might help you?
