Did you know that microwaves now have a "reheat" feature, where you stick something frozen solid in there and push one button, and it comes out completely thawed and heated all the way through? OMG, this could change my life!

Mine has options of what you want to defrost.

Bread/pizza, meat/Fish, or Poultry. Three different buttons (but 5 options) just for defrosting. After you pick which of those you want you have to tell it how much it weighs.

But it works great.

It has then options of microwaving, grilling, or a combo of both.

So many options. It used to be you'd turn a dial for defrost, warm, or cook and a second dial for the timer and it's on. That was it.

Re: Happy Basic Thursday~

When I lived in Amsterdam, Janine, most of the microwaves there were also convection ovens (which makes them more expensive, of course). Is that still true? Here microwaves are just microwaves unless you go with a high-end brand or part of a big wall oven combo.

This one has all those defrost options too Janine. But so did my 12YO that died, LOL. It also has some "softening" options for butter and ice cream, and "add 1 minute" button, and a button specifically for popcorn. I am living the high life.

I had to drive out to a ghetto Sears to get it. Like, in a bad part of town where an entire mall has completely closed down except for the Sears. I had DH check Target, Costco, etc last night and nobody had any full size countertop microwaves at all. This one fits perfectly in the hole in the cabinet and is actually stainless, bonus!

How is the migraine now, Janine?

Nope, not convection oven...I've never seen one here. My aunt has one in the UK that is though.

Migraine is ok but the side effects are a bugger!

We have a busy night ahead. Home to make dinner, eat quick, then I am back here for a meeting at 5:30. But then my meetings are mostly finished for the month so that is good.

PA day tomorrow. Woo hoo! I am so tired. What a week! Of course I get to spend all day tomorrow writing report cards. That wont be too thrilling, but at least it will be quiet!

Ru is at work tonight. E and I are trying out a cauliflower/sausage bake thing for supper. Ru prepped it before she left and I just stuck it in the oven. It'll be ready in 10 minutes or so.

Sorry about the migraine Janine, and yuck on the pestilence Jess. Nice microwave, Cheryl!
