Looking for ideas for cheap deli meat...

Part of what we're having for my dd's 1st B-Day party is sandwiches. I went to Wal-Mart to scope out there meat platters. For a platter to feed 20-25 ppl, they want $30.

Is there any way I can do it for cheaper??

Thanks alot for ANY ideas!

Well, I would just buy the meat, cheese, and veggies seperately. I get my lunch meat at BJ's Wholesale. I buy the turkey. They have three different kinds ranging from $3-4 a pound, which is a lot cheaper than the grocery. Other options for sandwhiches include homemade roast beef or roast beef barbecue (what we did for dd's 1st birthday), homemade turkey, sloppy joes, and you can use grownd turkey which is even cheaper than ground beef. HTH

I got the large platter from WalMart for my dd's first bday also and let me tell you it was gone in MINUTES!! It DID NOT feed the # it said it would! And my 20-25 included kids. So, if you do go that route..buy extra! It was so embarrassing to run out of food! Happy Birthday to your dd!
