LOL Jen. I am so worried about making bread! Like, really! But I need few things before we start (not enough flour, would like some powdered milk) so we are going to go to WM before hand.

What recipe are you using? The Artisanal one from Jess really is fool proof and super easy.

The one cooked in the Dutch oven? Ru has made that one before. I am going to make a kneaded, loaded bread. Just not sure which of the two recipes I have (White or whole wheat).

Re: Basically it's the weekend!

This one
3 c warm water
1 1/2 T salt (any works, sea salt is best)
1 1/2 T yeast
6 1/2 c flour

Mix cover and let rise for for 2 1/2 hours. This does not fit in my bowl to rise, I have to move it to a larger bowl

Dust top with flour. Using a sharp knife cut a grapefruit sized piece
of dough and dust with flour. Work into a ball, elongate and drop into
greased loaf pan. I make two loaves at once.
Cover with clean towel and let sit for 35 min. Preheat oven to 450.
Once 35 min is up, score loaf 3 times with sharp knife and dust with
flour. Pour 1 c hot water into broiler pan, put bread in oven and bake
for 30 min.

I put the water, and yeast in the bowl, proof it a bit then add the flour turn on the mixer on low to get the flour moistened then up to kneading speed (your manual will tell you what that is for your mixer) and walk away for 10 minutes or so

Once the bread is out of the oven, I need to shower, get some laundry rolling and get MH occupied.

Jen, is that recipe for one loaf or two? I'll take a look and figure out what I am going to make. Macy's whole wheat/honey bread looks really good too.

That recipe makes 2-3 loaves. I make 2 sandwich sized loaves in loaf pans or else I make 4 baguettes on a pizza stone

I make two loaves and then usually a small round baked on the pizza stone for dinner
