Gassy Baby!
Someone please help before I turn into a zombie!
DD is 5 months, when she was about a month and a half she was super gassy and it took us a couple weeks to figure it out but it was nuts that were bothering her, I was eating loads of almonds as snacks and they were causing her to have sore belly ![]() So since then Ive given up nuts, I could still manage to put a little peanut butter on bagels in the morning and she was fine with that.. now in the last couple weeks she's super gassy again, she started pooping every 2-3 days instead of 2-3 times a day, last time she did that it was a growth spurt and she was eating non stop and I could tell she was growing and she wasn't gassy... So I am no longer eating peanut butter, cut out dairy, I dont drink coffee or soda, dont eat green veggies, last thing I can think of is bananas since they seem to make me gassy? So I havent had a banana in 2 days now... She tosses and turns all night long, which wakes her up and she wants her pacifier or to nurse, Im so tired, I haven't slept more than 2 hours at a time in weeks, most nights Im up every 30-60 minutes with her. I'm no longer functioning... please help!! I am not eating anything new from the time a month ago that she wasn't bothered by... I need some sleep, Im so exhausted...

Re: Gassy Baby!
I have found that ColicEase Gripe Water really helps with gas. I only have to give my LO a quarter of a dose and it resolves the tummy trouble and helps them sleep.
My LO does not tolerate eggs or chocolate well.

Re: Gassy Baby!
Right up a food diary for yourself. It may help you make the connection. Also look into hidden sources of nuts. If you eat ANY processed foods, you need to read the labels very carefully. It is amazing the sorts of things they put in there!

Could also be teething. I know the extra drool at night gives my LO gas and makes him toss and turn more.

Or burp. Then he nurses all night. Sometimes with a weak suck from being asleep, which then adds more air in. Sigh.

Re: Gassy Baby!
She nurses a bit at night but doesn't seem to be hungry, just doing it for comfort... Im thinking she may sleep longer stretches once this passes..
8 days until my best friend shows up, 8 more days I need to survive... just 8 more days before someone can take over for at least 1 night!!!

Re: Gassy Baby!
My DD was the same way and I was exhausted because I went back to work after 6 weeks. DH works nights so I was miserable, sleeping only 2-3 hours total.
Try tummy massages and pumping her legs. You can find videos on how to do it on Youtube. Search "massages for colic" and you'll probably find the ones I used. They really worked! Also, start taking probiotics daily. I use a brand from Whole Foods found in the refrigerated section. Take them 3x a day, but also mix some with breastmilk and put on your areolas before nursing. It will help baby get regular again. My DD is almost 4 months now and she can now tolerate dairy a bit better. Hang in there, mama!
