They don't fall apart. We've been using ours like this for months.

Has anyone only removed the row of stitching that connects the two soakers to each other? I am talking about the one that makes a little 'loop that poo gets trapped in' at the back of the diaper. Both soakers would still be otherwise fully attached at the front and back of the diaper.
One of my seconds is coming undone across they stitching, and I wonder if the whole diaper would lay a bit flatter without it?
Thanks for the awesome video! It's fun to se one all Frankenstein-ed

Re: BGE detach video

Great video! Thank you for making it!

Has anyone experienced more wear at the point where the soakers were attached? Or more wear where they are STILL attached from being pulled around more in the washer/dryer?

Re: BGE detach video

Mine have been in heavy rotation for 3-ish months, and they are all second hand. I've found no wear problems from having them detached (although I don't have any attached to compare to). But only one is starting to get holes, and thats on the serged edge of a soaker, not where it attaches.

Re: BGE detach video

When I pulled my diapers out of the wash last night after watching the video I noticed that one of the elementals had the stitching coming undone where the soaker is attached so I decided to go ahead and detach it all of the way following your directions. I was brave and use regular fabric scissors and it worked great! I hung everything to dry before I went to bed and the diaper with the detached soaker is definitely way dryer that the other ones.

Thanks again!

Re: BGE detach video

Thank you so much! Great video. I detached one of my BGEs and I'm just waiting to try it on DD before I detach the rest I'm hoping this will help the fit. DD's 2.5yo and on the largest setting and yesterday I noticed they gave her plumber's crack. I think she had a growth spurt, it seems like she's outgrowing her diapers all of a sudden. She fit on the middle rise on 4.0s, Flips, and Freetimes up until a few months ago, and now she's on the largest snap settings :/ She's been on the largest rise of BGEs for a while and now they're almost too small.
