Awesome! That was my mistake so it's actually from last week, but that's a good one to do anyway. In fact, since I did that challenge last week I found 3 more shirts to get rid of!

Re: Mini Minimalist Challenge: 1/21-1/25

Yay for a new week!

Monday: I totally totally cheated! My email had become SO overloaded with emails and what not that I just had to close it. I only used it for coupons, sales, ect so there was nothing useful. So I opened a NEW email account and I am starting fresh. I am not even going to admit how many unopened emails I had before I did this. PHEW!

Tuesday: Fridge and Freezer. Well we do a pretty good in this area all the time but there is always a few things that can be thrown away. We had black beans, an almost empty bottle of marinade, a few slices of american cheese that dh said he didn't like, and cookie dough that I never got around to making So 4 things... close to 5 at least

I just found this- I'm pretty sure you started this just for me, so thanks! I'm off to do my 1st challenge.

As someone who is new to the forums, what will be the easiest way for me to follow this all year? TIA!

Re: Mini Minimalist Challenge: 1/21-1/25

I started doing the fridge today and pulled out all the condiments, returning only those I remember opening in the past 3 months or so. We have pickles, mustard, peanut butter and ONE jelly, horseradish, butter, and Better than Bullion on the door of the fridge, down from CRAZY crowded. It looks so empty!

I also pulled out a few gross veggies from the crisper drawer, the leftovers no one would eat, and the last of the juice. Lunch today was the few last bits of things - a few olives, capers, half of a roasted pepper, the end of a block of cheese, and leftover quinoa. Tasty!

The whole fridge looks so barren - and it's fantastic! I need to give it a good scrub but I'm pleased with the progress. I took out three grocery bags full of recyclables, one of garbage, and one more with compostables.

I love this! Does each unsubscribed thing count as an item we've purged from our home? I could purge so much this way, hehe.

Unsubscribed from:
1, 2, 3: Three different Living Social locations
4: YouTube digest
5: Similac Strong moms

I also did the fridge last night, so I'm counting it
At least 10 items:
Old mustard,
maple syrup I couldn't open
Old yeast
Expired mayo
Gross jelly with HFCS
Several fast food condiment packets
Expired coconut creamer
I can't even remember what else, but 10 items is guessing LOW!

This week's tally: 15
Total tally: 15

Re: Mini Minimalist Challenge: 1/21-1/25

I love these challenges! I tend to do them out of order though. I just do the ones that are easiest to fit into our schedule. I save the more challenging ones for days we're at home more or days dh isn't home to rummage through the bins to take "treasures" out.

kitchen drawer: Coupons, coupons, coupons. oy. a broken necklace, broken craft from preschool, 4 dice that are put away in the game cabinet now empty cd.

Great job everyone!

Amber, just do what you can. Even just a little bit each day for the next week or two. Don't let it overwhelm you!

I'm so glad so many are interested in coming on board with us. It's a fun, easy way to declutter your home and your life. Just adjust things to fit your schedule, and remember that you don't HAVE to play catch up or do everything every single day in order to participate. This is meant to be a way of decluttering that is relatively easy to do, that doesn't require a ton of time, and that won't feel overwhelming.

Re: Mini Minimalist Challenge: 1/21-1/25

I'd like to join. I only had a few minutes, but I unsubscribed from about 8 lists and deleted a bunch of emails. I seriously could be up all night if I really cleaned out my inboxes, but it's a start.
