Question about infant seats fabric
Today I went to BRU for my preliminary search for a carseat. I know they are all about equal with safety but I was shocked how they all felt! The fabric all felt like PVC coated fabric or something! Certainly not cozy like what I want my baby in. I was thinking the fabric would be softer.
Is this normal for infant seats or does our BRU just stink? They did have softer converable seats but I wanted a infant seat this time.

Look at graco seats. They're usually really nice.
This one is plush http://m.toysrus.com/skava/static/pr...ww.toysrus.com

Re: Question about infant seats fabric
Sadly, they have to be flame retardant, so many aren't too soft. I have an Onboard Air in Ella that is pretty soft, but not all of the Onboards are as soft as it is. The head cushions are still a bit smooth.

Re: Question about infant seats fabric
Thank you both for your help. My DH and I were discussing this today and he wondered why I wanted a infant seat. I told him because we have an older child and so on. One by one he shot down my thoughts on the subject. Not in a bad way, but made me realize that I may not need an infant seat since I want to do more baby wearing this time, and such. We also have a back up Cosco Scencera (sp?) seat if we need to take a mass transit trip (air or rail).
So now I am looking at the Britax Advocate. It has the SICT that our son's seat (Frontier 85 SICT) has and DH likes that. However I am seeing that it is only for "larger" newborns with the insert. What is a "larger" newborn? DS was born at the same gestation as this baby will be and was 8 lbs 1 oz at birth, 7 lbs 2 oz at take home (he couldn't eat for 3 days due to a NICU stay). Was DS a large or small baby?

That's a decent size. You'll need the infant wedge sold separately. The scenera fits newbies well so if fir any reason the baby didn't fit into the advocate right away you could use that.

Re: Question about infant seats fabric
Instead of the infant seat, we got the combi coccoro. I like it. It wont last as long as the bigger seats. But it's good for us and our smaller kiddo.
