Re: Amnio Today
Sure. I am actually quite vocal about what I want (I'm a former lay midwife too), but I don't sweat the small stuff. I have a hep-lock put in and ready. No fluids/ insulin is run unless my blood sugars are unable to be controlled by me. I have actually in 4 previous insulin dependent births never needed it. One time when I was getting too low, I just had DH go get a soda for "himself" and took sips every now and then. Not ideal, but better than the alternative and effective.
My last time at this hospital I had a super laid back Dr who only wanted me on the monitor for 10 min and off for 30. He was fine with my using the on-site labor tub until very late labor. I am always up and moving during labor. This same Dr is on-call tomorrow, so hoping we can do that again. The induction itself is just Cervadil, sometimes followed with AROM once removed. It works well and I typically have a 1 1/2 to 3 hour labor. This kiddo has been posterior quite a bit, so hopefully he rotates and stays put. Any other questions??

Re: Amnio Today
oh thats great!! way less interventive then here. altho you are being inducted, I think I would chose the same given the higher risk of large babies and still born. (i only say this cause you already know the "technical" stuff with being a midwife)
sounds like you will have a great quite labor I will keep you in my thoughts tonight. take care and enjoy your new baby!!
