*Update AGAIN*Blood in vomit go to ER or wait for Doc?

Our little guy has been sick for 2 days now, 102 fever, rapid breathing, horrible cough with mucus. Yesterday he was peeing fine but today he's only had 1 wet diaper. He ate about 12oz yesterday but today has only had 3oz so far he's been sleeping mostly.

This morning he started going to breathe and would be wheezy then he would seem like he's choking and then vomit, this happened a couple times, he's been sleeping and just started crying so I went up and he started again but this time there was dark brown stuff in his vomit. I'm pretty sure it's blood it's about a tablespoon amount.

He has an appointment to see his pediatrician at 3:30 so do you think it's okay to wait to see the doc or should we take him to the ER? I HATE going to the ER but I'm wondering if she will just send us there anyway.

WWYD?

Update again. They did some testing last night, xray, swabs, blood, urine, and the pediatrician believes he has RSV. He has a Bronchiolitis, an infection in his left ear and his right ear the Eustachian tube is blocked.

So he's in the hospital now for a while, they said it takes 7-10 days for it to run it's course. I'm kind of peeved because I had asked about him getting the RSV shots again, he had them last year when he came home from the NICU, and they said they are not covered for him. But it's so common in preemies and is so hard on them with 2 older siblings too it makes it worse. It seems almost inevitable that he would get it.

How old is he? I am thinking ER. One wet diaper in how many hours? How rapid are his respirations?

Dark brown is bad for vomit. Red would be more likely that he'd just strained really hard.

I would go sooooo now. Just let the ped know and they could probably see him there after emerg is done.

He's almost 17months, he was a micro preemie so he's 1 corrected.

I think I will call the Ped that's a good suggestion don't know why I didn't think of it. I texted my DH to see what he thinks.

I agree, call the ped and see what they say. They may tell you to try to collect a sample if he vomits again.
