Short Rows tutorial?

What's your favorite short rows tutorial? I've been doing the standard wrap and turn and I've gotten pretty good on one side. The first wrap (the knit stitch) I can do so it's just about invisible. The other side where you turn around and come back (the wrapped purl) is not so great. I've looked at tons of tutorials and videos and I *think* I'm doing it right but I always wind up with a visible twist or hole or gap or something on that side. I just got the Evie Pants pattern and she said she likes the Wooly Wonders short row method for one side but her link goes to a page where all the images are gone. I haven't tried to work through it without the images yet but I guess that was the first time I considered that there might be other methods of doing short rows. Now that I'm searching, I'm finding TONS of different methods and I'm totally overwhelmed. So what's your favorite?

Also, if there's a visible stripe where the short rows are, does that mean my purls are looser than my knits? Any tips for fixing that other than the obvious "pay more attention to your tension"?

Re: Short Rows tutorial?

I've tried the wrap and turn with the same issue. I have tried the German method also. I really like the Yarn Over method.

Re: Short Rows tutorial?

Great! I'm off to google german and yarn-over. I saw something for "shadow wraps" but it didn't make much sense to me without a swatch to play with. I also saw a reference to Japanese but it didn't have a tutorial. Looks like I'll have to work up a play swatch and try out a few. Thanks!!

I also had no luck with the Wooly Wonders link on the Evie Pants pattern, but I found this video on You Tube, which was really helpful:
