Sleeping through the night

Anyone sleeping through the night yet? Ellie has given us 2 nights of 8 hours of sleep. She has been doing mostly 5 or 6h for the past 2 weeks but she seems to have slipped into the 8h mark. Mommy feels good and rested .

Re: Sleeping through the nigh

So jealous. We were at 4-6 at 2 weeks and now 3 or so. It's so frustrating and I am grumpy.

Re: Sleeping through the nigh

I wish!!!!! We're getting there.... I think. The longest he's ever slept is 6.5 hours & that happened ONCE. Usually he sleeps 2-4 hours at a time at night. So....... I'm not very well-rested. Lol.

How often do you nurse during the day? I'm starting to think I should just nurse him constantly during the day, even when he doesn't act hungry... then maybe he wouldn't need to nurse at night so much.

I nurse her about every2 hours most of the day until 7pm. From 7pm till 9 or 10 she wants to nurse constantly until she falls asleep.

Re: Sleeping through the night

aurelia sleeps in our bed with us so i have no clue how long she could sleep. i usually go to bed 2-3 hrs after she has gone to sleep. i think she is only nursing 2-3 times during the night though.

Re: Sleeping through the night

once we figured out our lady wanted to go to bed at 7-7:30 instead of 8:30-9, she started sleeping for 8 hr stretches waking to nurse and then another 3 hr stretch...she just needed an earlier 'bedtime'

Re: Sleeping through the night

Emersyn started dictating her own "schedule" pretty early on and has pretty much stuck to it ever since. She's usually down for the night between 10-11 and sleeps until 5-6 when she wakes up to nurse and have her bum changed and then goes back to sleep until 9-10. I'm aware 10-11 is late for a baby, but we're night owls around here and she is getting adequate sleep, so it's NBD to me! She does sleep snuggled up to me and I sleep topless so on the odd chance she wakes in the middle of the night, she kinda helps herself.

Me too!

I had one night where she slept around 8 hours but haven't had a repeat. It was when she was about 3 weeks old and I woke up so engorged I thought I had bricks on my chest.

Our usual night is go to bed/fall asleep around 7:30-8:30, she then has a clock in her head that tells her to wake around 1 then again at 4 and I don't know how late she'd sleep in the morning as I have a toddler that wakes between 5:30-6:15 every day. Daddy did take DS downstairs one day last weekend and DD and I slept in bed until 8! Talk about refreshing.
