Basil body temperature thermometer reccommendations??

You lovely mamas have (re) convinced me to try the NfP method of BC. (FINALLY talked my hubby out of a vasectomy!! ) does anyone have a good thermometer reccommendation?? I'm hoping to order everything tonight!

I don't think it matters, I think all are about the same.
Just be extra careful for a very long time while charting as your body may surprise you.

I got mine at CVS. Remember NFP only works if you avoid your fertile period. Temping tells you AFTER you ovulated that you did. So you will need to chart for several months first to see when this time is and still use some other form of birth control to prevent.

And just temps isn't as reliable, you need to chart fluids too. They predict a little earlier than your temp spike, a good warning. There's a fantastic book on it, "taking charge of your fertility"

I don't know if you are trying or preventing, but if preventing give yourself LOTS of leeway prior to ovulation, as those swimmers can be tough and survive awhile

I did. I used OPKs while temping. You still need to be careful. You have 12-48 hours till ovulation using those and sex even a day or two before can result in pregnancy. I used then only to verify ovulation.

This is exactly how I was going to use them! Just to make sure I was charting correctly.

Awesome! I just ordered the book, thermometer and 50 opk strips....which came with 20 pregnancy strips...haha don't know what I'm gonna do with those since we're tta!
