I don't know how many you need but I bought 24. DS was 7lbs 5 oz at birth and just under 7 lbs when we came home. I think he could have worn preemies for at least 3 or so weeks. Our nb were a bit bulky during this time and we had quite a few leaks. We tended to keep using sposies during that time b/c of the leaks and b/c it took forever for DS's cord to fall off. I'm hopeful we'll avoid sposies with this one (less the ones at the hospital).

see that's where I don't know what we'll need

DS was 2 weeks early and 8lbs 7oz

DD was 1 week early and 7lbs 0oz...however once my milk came in she chunked up very quickly.

Hmm...do you think you will use preemie pfs then? You might be better off sticking with nb pfs unless you want the preemies for doublers, burp cloths or household purposes.

yeah I'm thinking I'll probably just skip them...they are a great deal tho.

I could use them as doublers, but don't know if I really "need" them.

I love the hemp/bamboo doublers that I got for DS. They were always part of his nighttime diaper. I have hemp bamboo fleece now so I might make some more because they were THAT good. Then again I may just throw them into the diapers I am making.

They seemed more trim to me (used them on DD2 when she was 3-4, in size large) but the Super Lites always leaked out the seams, though I did love the fit of them, I found the Brites more bullet proof. I can grab them both and take a comparison pic if you like, as I am sure the difference is the same in any size of them.

I don't really like pfs as doublers. DS poops way too much and trying to clean poop out of multiple layers is really hopefully we'll get a few weeks' use out of these in the beginning though.
