Slim high back boosters?

I'm looking to find the slimmest HBB for my 6 year old. He's 68lbs and 4'2" and he's outgrown his frontier. I just put my 4 year old in the frontier since he just hit 40lbs and outgrew his CA 65 rfing. We'll be using that as a spare seat though. Now, I'm due in august and plan on getting this seat for him/her. So I need to find a slim enough booster for my son that will puzzle well with the frontier and the above seat. The above seat will eventually be replaced by a radian as well. I have a 2002 Ford explorer. Thanks for all the help!

Re: Slim high back boosters?

I'm a little curious why you've settled on a Baby Trend infant seat? On the plus side, it does tend to work well in 3 across situations. But overall it is not a highly recommended seat due to some picky rules.

As for the booster question, unless you live a far way from a baby store that has a good variety of seats, your best bet is to just try some combinations in your car. The Britax Parkway SG/SGL often works well in 3 across, and the Recaro Probooster is sometimes a good one too. But I don't know for sure if one of those (or something else) would work best for you.

I liked it in the store mostly because of the boot cover. It gets into the negatives regularly here so if I can find a car seat that has a boot cover that's better, I'm definitely open to suggestions!

The only store we have here is Walmart

You can get a shower cap style cover that is safe to use and put it on any car seat, then you don't need the boot and can find the seat that works best for you. Last I looked my wm had some really cute ones.

Yeah, I would get a shower cap style boot cover and a better seat. The Chicco KeyFit is a TON nicer, easier to use, and just all around better. It is very narrow as well. But you will be a LOT happier using it.
