Switching formula

Is there a recommended way to switch formula? Do you have to mix them or gradually introduce? We are currently using Gerber Good Start Protect and are very happy. However, we are traveling quite a bit over the next few months and I would love to switch to Gerber Good Start Gentle b/c you can easily find prepared bottles in most stores and I won't have to worry about making formula in hotel rooms. I can add my own probiotics. Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Switching formula

I would start with replacing 1 oz. of the old formula with the new formula. 4ish days later, replace another oz. And just keep doing that until you're on all new formula. I hope that makes sense! It should take a couple weeks, but it's the gentlest way for little tummies to make the switch. Good luck!

Re: Switching formula

You could mix them 1/2 and 1/2 for a couple days, and see how he does. If no issue, I'd go ahead and switch him over.

My daughter never had any problems with me switching formulas on her. I didn't mix them either. I guess it really depends on how sensitive your kiddo is.

Re: Switching formula

Do you do the same thing when the babies are older?

Re: Switching formula

I just went ahead and switched without mixing. The old fornula was making her sick so there was no way I was going to give it to her.

Re: Switching formula

Depends on your child. We just switched with the first child and our second we just switched out right since he was having problems....ended up being milk potien inthlerance. I think for most babies mixing is a good idea since everythign is so new to them and their digestive systems. Do what you think is best. =)
